Deng Qilin, general manager of Hubei Province-based Chinese steel producer Wuhan Iron and Steel Company (WISCO) has stressed that WISCO will strongly promote the development of its steel base project at Fangcheng Port in Guangxi Province.

Mr. Deng made his comments at a meeting with senior local Chinese Communist Party official, Guo Shengkun. For this part, Mr. Guo stated that Guangxi Province and WISCO have a satisfactory partnership and will jointly promote the development of the project in question.

As reported previously by SteelOrbis, in December last year China's National Development Bank signed a developmental financial cooperation agreement worth RMB 80 billion ($11.72 billion) with WISCO, in support of the steelmaker's Fangcheng Port project and development of its overseas resources.
