WISCO sees significant fall in net profit in H1

Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Group (WISCO) has announced an operating revenue of RMB 28.85 billion ($4.32 billion) for the first half of the current year, decreasing on 16.42 percent year on year, with a net profit of RMB 270 million ($40.42 million), down 47.71 percent year on year.

In the given period, WISCO produced 7.6874 million mt of pig iron, 7.7678 million mt of crude steel and 7.1806 million mt of finished steel, indicating respective year-on-year decreases of 0.53 percent, 0.85 percent and 1.76 percent.
