On October 9, Hubei Province-based Wuhan Iron & Steel Corporation (WISCO) announced its ex-factory prices for November. The details are as follows:
1. HR coils
Prices increased RMB 50/mt ($7/mt). After the change, the price of 2.75 mm Q235 is at RMB 4,040/mt ($537/mt), while that of 5.5 mm Q235 is at RMB 3,890/mt ($517/mt).
2. CR coils
Prices of common carbon steel rose by RMB 100/mt ($13/mt). As a result, the price of 1.0 mm Q195 cold rolled sheet is now at RMB 4,260/mt ($566/mt), while that of 1.0 mm Q195 cold rolled coils is at RMB 4,210/mt ($560/mt).
3. Galvanized coils
Prices of WLZn(JY/mt), DX51D+Z, DX52D+Z, and DX53D+Z increased RMB 80/mt ($11/mt), but the prices of other galvanized products still remain unchanged.
4. Medium plate
Prices of common carbon steel and low-alloy steel (thickness ≥ 26 mm) went up by RMB 100/mt ($13/mt), while they increased RMB 300/mt ($40/mt) for other plates.
5. Silicon steel
Non-oriented steel: prices of specifications lower than 600 mm wide increased RMB 100/mt ($13/mt).
6. Wire rod
Prices of common carbon, low carbon, quality carbon, alloy structural steel, and 40Cr steel rose by RMB 120/mt ($16/mt). The other upward adjustments are: up RMB 100/mt ($13/mt) for high carbon steel SWRH82A, 82B, 77MnA and 82MnV-JX, up RMB 160/mt ($21/mt) for high carbon steel SWS72A, a rise of RMB 200/mt ($27/mt) for 30MnSi, up RMB 80/mt ($11/mt) for cold heading steel SWRCH6A-22A, and an increase of RMB 120/mt ($16/mt) for 35K series.
7. Prices of other varieties remained at October levels.
All the above prices exclude 17 percent VAT and are effective as of October 9, 2007.
