WISCO prepares to commission coke oven at joint venture

Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO) has announced that the coke cutter of coe oven No. 5 at one of its joint ventures has officially been commissioned.
 
Construction work on the coke oven No. 5 was completed in November 2010. The coke oven belongs to Wuhan Pingmei WISCO United Coking Chemical Co., a joint venture established by WISCO and Henna Province-based Pingdingshan Coal Co. The JV currently has 11 large coke ovens. After No. 5 coke oven is commissioned, the company's coke output capacity will reach 6.90 million mt, ranking number one in China.
