On July 2, Hubei Province-based Wuhan Iron & Steel Corporation (WISCO) announced its ex-factory prices for August. The details are as follows:
1. Medium plate
Prices have increased RMB 100/mt ($15/mt). After adjustment, the price of 14-20 mm Q235 medium plate is at RMB 6,220/mt ($907/mt).
2. Wire rod
The prices of common carbon are up by RMB 400/mt ($58/mt), while the prices of 10B21 wire rod have increased RMB 500/mt ($73/mt), with a rise of RMB 300/mt ($44/mt) seen in other products.
3. HR coils
The prices of Q195, SPHC, and quality carbon have increased RMB 200/mt ($29/mt), with an upward adjustment of RMB 100/mt ($15/mt) made to weather resistant coils. After the changes, the price of 2.75 mm Q235 HRC is at RMB 5,750/mt ($838/mt), while that of 5.5 mm Q235 HRC is at RMB 5,640/mt ($822/mt).
4. CR coils
Prices have increased RMB 80/mt ($12/mt). Thus, the price of 1.0 mm Q195 CR coil is at RMB 6,310/mt ($920/mt), while the price of 1.0 mm Q195 cold rolled sheet is now at RMB 6,310/mt ($920/mt).
5. Electrolytic tinning plate
Prices have increased RMB 200/mt ($29/mt).
6. Silicon steel
The prices of oriented steel are up by RMB 2,000/mt ($292/mt).
7. HDG
Prices have risen by RMB 150/mt ($22/mt).
8. Section steel
The prices of heavy rail have increased RMB 600/mt ($87/mt).
9. Prices of the producer's other products have remained unchanged from July levels.
All the above prices exclude 17 percent VAT and are effective as of July 3, 2008.
