Welspun’s order book exceeds INR 100 billion threshold

India-based global pipe manufacturer Welspun Corporation has announced that it has received orders from the Middle East and the domestic markets comprising of 130,000 mt of pipe and 31,000 mt of plate. With the new orders worth INR 8.19 billion ($147.02 million), Welspun's current order book has exceeded the INR 100 billion ($1.8 billion) threshold.

Welspun stated that, with the addition of these orders, the current order book including the orders being executed in the first quarter of the financial year 2012-13 and the current quarter stands at INR 100.04 billion. The total order volumes amount to approximately 1.37 million mt of pipes and external plate orders of 86,000 mt. Welspun also has internal plate orders of 176,000 mt.
