V&M to set up steel tube plant in China

The world's largest seamless steel tube producer, France based Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes (V&M) decided to set up a seamless steel tube plant in Changzhou city of east China's Jiangsu province. The construction of the plant is expected to start in July. V&M has sold more than five million tons of steel tubes in China so far and therefore decided to localise its production for the country. The steel tubes the company sold to China are mainly used in petroleum, power, automobile, mining and machine-building industries. The company currently has an annual seamless steel tube production capacity of three million tons with 10 plants in Europe and production bases in Brazil and the U.S.
