Vitkovice orders new equipment from SMS Meer

The Czech pipe producer VVT-Vitkovice Valcovna Trub has awarded an equipment supply contract to German plantmaker SMS Meer for the delivery and installment of a sizing mill, a rotary hearth furnace and a reheating furnace as part of its hot rolling mill.

Upon its completion, the new mill will have an annual production capacity of 100,000 metric tons of seamless tubes manufactured from high-alloy steel, in a diameter range of 168.0 mm to 406.4 mm and with wall thickness of up to 60 mm.
