Vietnam’s Sunsco invests $35 million in new steel mill in Bing Duong

Vietnamese steel manufacturer Sun Steel Joint Stock Company (Sunsco), formerly Vina Ta Fong Iron & Steel Co., Ltd, has started the construction of a steel mill expected to cost more than $35 million in the Di An district of the southern Vietnamese province of Binh Duong

The new steel mill is expected to start operations in March 2010 with a monthly capacity of 10,000 mt. The project is planned to have two main production systems to produce rolled steel and steel pipes.

Sunsco, based in Binh Duong province, currently produces 300,000 mt of wire rod and deformed bar, 120,000 mt of steel pipes, 60,000 mt of pre-painted galvanized steel coils and 30,000 mt of other coils yearly.
