Vietnam-based steel sheet JV to start commercial production in November

Japanese steelmaker Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) has announced that China Steel Sumikin Vietnam Joint Stock Company, its steel sheet joint venture with the Taiwan-based steel producer China Steel Corporation, will start commercial production in November.
 
The sheet mill located in Vietnam with an annual capacity of 1.2 million mt will produce cold rolled steel sheet, hot dip galvanized steel sheet, electrical steel sheet and other flat rolled products. The joint venture mill established with an investment of about $1.15 billion will respond to sheet demand in the ASEAN region.
