Vietnam's finance ministry has announced its decision to levy a 10 percent import tariff on boron-added steel. The import tariff rate on boron-added steel up to now has been zero.

According to Vietnam Steel Association, the new tariff targets enterprises which import boron-added steel for the stated purpose of producing welded steel products, in order to enjoy the zero percent tariff; however, these enterprises actually sell the imported boron-added steel as construction steel.
