Venezuela is considering the possibility of offering Ternium SA, a subsidiary of Argentine-Italian conglomerate Techint, a 10 percent stake in its largest steelmaker Siderúrgica del Orinoco (Sidor) - as part compensation following the 2008 nationalization of Sidor in which Ternium had held a 60 percent stake.

Venezuelan mining minister Rodolfo Sanz stated that Venezuela could offer Ternium minority ownership of Sidor as part payment, adding that he expected the negotiations with Ternium to conclude in 15 days.
