French tube manufacturer Vallourec has announced that it is supplying 4,700 mt of steam tubes and pipes for the latest ultra-supercritical coal-fired power plant currently under construction in Malaysia

Japanese-based IHI Corporation, leader of the consortium for engineering, procurement and construction, had placed an order for special Vallourec tubes and pipes in multiple dimensions and five different steel grades. The premium tubes have been manufactured in Vallourec’s French, Chinese and German facilities.

This new power plant operated by Jimah East Power (JEP) is to be commissioned in two steps, starting with the first unit in 2018, followed by the second one in 2019.
