Reuters reported Tuesday that the world's largest iron ore mining company, Vale SA, expects to be producing 450 million mt of iron ore by 2015-50 percent higher than current production levels.

The additional production is expected to satisfy growing iron ore demand from China. Vale is currently building a fleet of over 20 vessels with a 400,000 mt capacity that will operate regularly from Brazil to China.
