VAI commissioned POSCO’s anneal and pickling line

VAI Industries (UK) Ltd. which is a subsidiary of Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau (VAI) of Austria and one of the world's leading engineering and plant-building company, commissioned POSCO's anneal and pickling line no.3 at Pohang Works at a cost of over £31 million (approx. $50.5 million). It took 2 years for VAI Industries to install and set up the line for production which is six weeks ahead of schedule planned back in May 2001 when the contract was concluded. With this new anneal and pickling line, POSCO's annual stainless hot rolled coil and cold rolled coil capacity will increase 450'000 tonnes and 50'000 tonnes respectively.
