According to local media, US Steel is moving forward with plans to develop around 130 acres along Interstate 459 in Hoover, Alabama, for 850-900 apartments.

The City of Hoover’s planning consultant said he anticipates that US Steel will develop the property in phases over 10 years or more, building one piece of the road at a time.

US Steel still needs preliminary and final plan approval from the Hoover Planning and Zoning Commission, but no rezoning is required.
