US Steel recalls laid-off workers to Minntac pellet plant

US Steel recalled all 400 laid off workers at its Minntac taconite pellet plant in Minnesota, company officials confirmed to media Friday.

Iron and maintenance workers were already recalled to prep the facility, with the others returning in around two weeks.

U.S. Steel’s Keetac plant in Keewatin, where 412 workers were laid off, remains idled, company officials said.
