US rig counts drop yet again while Canadian count maintains uptrend

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending October 30 the US rig count decreased by 12 to 775, after no change the previous week. The gas rig count increased by four to 197, whereas the oil rig count decreased by 16 to 578. The overall rig count is still down by 1,154 from 1,929 rigs during the same week a year ago.
 
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by one in the week ending October 30 to 191, after a nine-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 238 from 429 rigs during the same week a year ago.
