Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending August 21 the
US rig count increased by one to 885, after no change the previous week. The gas rig count stayed level at 211, whereas the oil rig count increased by two to 674. The overall rig count is still down by 1,011 from 1,896 rigs during the same week a year ago.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by three in the week ending August 21 to 208, after a three-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is still down by 197 from 405 rigs during the same week a year ago.
