US rig count finally shows decent growth

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending July 24 the US rig count increased by 19 to 876, after a six-rig decrease the previous week. The gas rig count decreased by two to 216, whereas the oil rig count increased by 21 to 659. The overall rig count is down by 1,007 from 1,883 rigs during the same week a year ago.
 
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by eight in the week ending July 24 to 200, after a 23-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is still down by 195 from 395 rigs during the same week a year ago.
