Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending September 11 the
US rig count decreased by 16 to 848, after a 13-rig decrease the previous week. The gas rig count dropped by six to 196, whereas the oil rig count decreased by 10 to 652. The overall rig count is still down by 1,083 from 1,931 rigs during the same week a year ago.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by two in the week ending September 11 to 185, after a nine-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 220 from 405 rigs during the same week a year ago.
