US-NAFTA surface trade rose 12.7 percent in November

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) announced Tuesday that trade using surface transportation between the US and its North American neighbors, Canada and Mexico, increased 12.7 percent in November 2011 compared to November 2010, totaling US$76.7 billion.

The value of US surface transportation trade with Canada and Mexico increased 3 percent in November 2011 from October 2011. Additionally, US-Canada and US-Mexico surface transportation trade both increased compared to November 2010 with US-Canada trade reaching US$44.3 billion, a 12.2 percent increase, and US-Mexico reaching US$32.4 billion, a 13.3 percent increase.
