Michigan-based steel service center Alro Steel Corporation has acquired a 15-acre stretch of land in the Findlay Industrial Park at Westport in Pennsylvania where it plans to build a new steel service center to eventually replace its current Carnegie, Pennsylvania location.

Supervisors in Findlay approved the development plans Wednesday for the 99,700 square-foot distribution center that will be up and running, and will replace the 20,000 square-foot Carnegie location in about 12 months.

Pending the approval of all necessary approvals and permits, Findlay officials hope to be in the second phase of development next spring, and complete the project by fall 2011.
