Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending September 18 the
US rig count decreased by 6 to 842, after a 16-rig decrease the previous week. The gas rig count increased by two to 198, whereas the oil rig count decreased by eight to 644. The overall rig count is still down by 1,089 from 1,931 rigs during the same week a year ago.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by three in the week ending September 18 to 182, after a two-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 195 from 377 rigs during the same week a year ago.
