Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending September 25 the
US rig count decreased by four to 838, after a six-rig decrease the previous week. The gas rig count decreased by one to 197, whereas the oil rig count decreased by four to 640. The overall rig count is still down by 1,093 from 1,931 rigs during the same week a year ago.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by six in the week ending September 25 to 176, after a three-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 253 from 429 rigs during the same week a year ago.
