US to enact AD duties on magnesium from China, Russia

The US International Trade Commission (USITC) decided to impose anti-dumping duties on imports of magnesium from China and Russia because such imports were determined to cause injury to US industries. The determination is based on the calculated dumping margins ranging from 91.3 percent to 141.5 percent for China, and from 18.7 percent to 22.3 percent for Russia. The anti-dumping duties to be imposed as a result of the USITC decision are equal to aforementioned the dumping margins. The imposition of the anti-dumping duties is subject to the final determinations from the Department of Commerce (DOC) on dumping and from the USITC regarding injury. The department also ruled that where critical circumstances exist in regard to certain imports from China, the duty will not apply. Magnesium is generally used in producing nodular graphite in cast iron.
