US steel fabricator forms wind energy joint venture

Middleboro, Massachusetts-based steel fabricator Mass Tank Corporation announced Monday that it has entered into a joint venture with Germany-based EEW Group, a top supplier for structural steel in offshore wind projects, and Houma, Louisiana-based Gulf Island Fabrication.

The joint venture creates East Coast Offshore Fabrication LLC (ECO Fab) to build foundations, towers and other structural parts for wind energy projects of the US East Coast. ECO Fab also announced Monday that it will construct a new steel fabrication facility in Massachusetts.
