US rig counts recover as Canada’s fall again

According to the latest report from Baker Hughes, for the week ending April 20, the US rig count was up 22 from the previous week to 1,972, and was up 172 year-on-year. The oil rig count increased by 15 to 1,337 (up 424 year-on-year), and the gas rig count increased by seven to 631, but is down 247 year-on-year.

Meanwhile, Canada's rig count declined by 18, continuing a streak of major week-on-week declines. The Canadian rig count now stands at 146 but is up three from the same week a year ago.
