US rig counts plunge while Canadian counts hold steady

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending February 13 the US rig count decreased by 98 to 1,358. The gas rig count decreased by 14 to 300, whereas the oil rig count decreased by 84 to 1,056. The overall rig count is down by 406 from 1,764 rigs during the same week a year ago.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by one in the week ending February 13 to reach 382. The Canadian rig count is down by 242 from 624 rigs during the same week a year ago.
