Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending July 14 the US rotary rig count remained stable at 952 rigs following a 12-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by two to 187 while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by two to 765. The overall rig count is now up by 447 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 16 to 191 rigs in the week ending July 14, following a 14-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 96 rigs from the same week a year ago.
