US rig count slips while Canada’s continues to increase

Baker Hughes reported Friday that for the week ending February 22, the US rig count fell by one to 1,762, following a three-rig increase the week prior. During the past week, 1,329 rigs were exploring for oil, down eight from last week while the gas-directed rig count rose by seven to 428.

Canada's rig count increased by 11 to 662, following increases the past three weeks. Canada's rig count was still down 30 year-on-year.
