US rig count slips again while Canadian count ticks upward

Baker Hughes reported that for the week ending February 14, the US rig count decreased by seven to 1,764, following 14-rig decrease the previous week.  However, the rig count is still up by two from 1,762 rigs during the same week a year ago.  The oil rig count increased by seven to 1,423, whereas the gas rig count decreased by 14 to 337.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by three in the week ending February 14 to reach 624, following 13-rig decrease the week before.  However, the Canadian rig count is still down 27 from 651 rigs during the same week a year ago.
