Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending February 24 the
US rotary rig count increased by three to 754 following a 10-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by two to 151, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by five to 602. The overall rig count is now up by 252 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 10 to 341 rigs in the week ending February 24, following a 21-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 166 rigs from the same week a year ago.
