Baker Hughes has reported that for the shortened holiday week ending November 23, the
US rotary rig count increased by five to 593 following a 20-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by two to 118, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by three to 474. The overall rig count is still down by 151 rigs, year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 10 to 174 rigs in the week ending November 23, following an eight-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 10 rigs from the same week a year ago.
