According to Friday's report from Baker Hughes, for the week ending August 10, the US rig count increased by one to 1,931, reflecting a year-on-year decrease of 28 rigs. Rigs drilling for oil increased by three to 1,432 while the gas rig count dropped by three to 495.
The Canadian rig count fell again during the week, this time by four, to 299, a 165-rig decrease year-over-year.
