US rebar exports rise 14.1 percent in January

US exports of rebar totaled 17,369 mt in January, up 14.1 percent from December but down 4.9 percent from January 2016 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $9.8 million in January, compared to $8.5 million in the previous month and $9.5 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in January, with 15,180 mt, compared to 11,537 mt in December and 15,034 mt in January 2016. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US rebar exports in January.
