Total raw steel production in the United States amounted to 1,888,000 net tons (nt) last week, representing a 0.3 percent increase from the 1,883,000 nt produced in the previous week, and a 14.6 percent increase from the 1,647,000 nt produced in the same week last year.
The capacity utilization rate of US raw steelmaking facilities was 77 percent in the week ending August 20, compared to 77 percent in the previous week and 68.1 percent in the same week of last year.
