US OCTG exports rise 0.2 percent in December, drop 21.7 percent for full-year 2016

US exports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 24,414 mt in December, up 0.2 percent from November but down 26.2 percent from December 2015 levels. By value, OCTG exports totaled $58.1 million in December, compared to $43.0 million in the previous month and $64.8 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most OCTG to Canada in December, with 16,154 mt, compared to 18,360 mt in November and 23,273 mt in December 2015. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 1,712 mt; and Venezuela, with 1,407 mt.
 
As for the full year 2016, US OCTG exports totaled 242,545 mt, a 21.7 percent decrease from 2015. By value, exports totaled $556.4 million in 2016, down 20.4 percent from 2015.
