On March 1, 2006, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) instituted five-year reviews (“sunset”) concerning the antidumping duties on imports of
stainless steel bar from
Brazil,
India,
Japan, and
Spain.
The US ITC used the sunset reviews to determine whether the revocation of the orders would be likely to lead to a continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries.
As a result of these reviews, the ITC has determined that revocation of the existing antidumping duty orders on
stainless steel bar from
Brazil,
India,
Japan, and
Spain would be likely to lead to a continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries.
As a result of the ITC's affirmative determination and the US Department of Commerce's (DOC) recent affirmative finding, the existing orders on imports of
stainless steel bar from
Brazil,
India,
Japan, and
Spain will remain in place.
