On June 1, 2006, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) instituted five-year reviews ("sunset") concerning the antidumping duties on imports of certain seamless carbon and alloy steel standard, line and pressure pipe from Argentina, Brazil, and Germany.
The US ITC used the sunset reviews to determine whether the revocation of the orders would be likely to lead to a continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries.
As a result of these reviews, the ITC has determined that revocation of the existing antidumping duty orders on certain seamless carbon and alloy steel standard, line and pressure pipe from Germany would be likely to lead to a continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries. On the other hand, the ITC has determined that revocation of the existing antidumping duty orders on the subject merchandise from Argentina and Brazil would be unlikely to lead to a continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries.
As a result of the ITC's affirmative determination, the existing order on imports of certain seamless carbon and alloy steel standard, line and pressure pipe from Germany will remain in place, while the existing orders on imports of the same product from Argentina and Brazil will be revoked.
