On March 23, the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) has announced the initiation of five-year reviews concerning the antidumping (AD) duty orders on carbon and alloy seamless standard, line, and pressure pipe from Japan and Romania.

The US ITC said that it has instituted second five-year reviews to determine whether revocation of the AD orders on carbon and alloy seamless standard, line, and pressure pipe from Japan and Romania would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to the domestic industry.

On June 26, 2000, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) issued an AD duty order on imports of small and large diameter carbon and alloy seamless standard, line, and pressure pipe from Japan. On August 10, 2000, the DOC issued an AD duty order on the imports of large diameter carbon and alloy seamless standard, line, and pressure pipe from Romania. Following five-year reviews by the DOC and the ITC, effective May 8, 2006, the DOC announced the continuation of the AD duty orders on imports of certain carbon and alloy seamless standard, line, and pressure pipe from Japan and Romania.
