US iron and steel scrap exports fall 9.3 percent in November

According to the latest figures from the US International Trade Commission, US iron and steel scrap exports totaled 1,124,603 mt in November, a 9.3 percent decrease month-on-month but a 28.6 percent increase year-on-year.
 
Turkey was the largest recipient of US iron and scrap exports in November with 286,208 mt, which is up 1.6 percent month-on-month but down 12.8 percent year-on-year. Other notable destinations in November include: India, with 178,055 mt; Taiwan, with 115,403 mt; Mexico, with 89,946 mt; and China, with 85,977 mt.
 
In terms of value, US iron and steel scrap exports totaled $325.3 million in November, a 5.6 percent decrease compared to October but a 28.8 percent increase compared to November 2015.
