US HRC exports drop 16.1 percent in July

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 66,179 mt in July, down 16.1 percent from June but up 30.9 percent from July 2016 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $47.4 million in July, compared to $58.4 million in the previous month and $36.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in July with 45,186 mt, compared to 53,150 mt in June and 53,150 mt in July 2016. Other top destinations included Canada, with 20,739 mt. There were no other significant destinations (over 1,000 mt) of US export HRC in July.
