US drawn wire exports fall 10.5 percent in April

US exports of drawing grade wire totaled 7,834 mt in April, down 10.5 percent from March and down 14.3 percent from April 2016 levels. By value, drawn wire exports totaled $15.7 million in April, compared to $17.7 million in the previous month and $16.9 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most drawn wire to Canada in April, with 3,498 mt, compared to 3,793 mt in March and 3,817 mt in April 2016. Other destinations included Mexico, with 2,349 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US drawn wire exports in April.
