US DOC slaps preliminary duties on Chinese wind towers

On Wednesday, the US Department of Commerce announced the preliminary countervailing duty (CVD) determination against wind towers from China, stating that Chinese manufacturers of the product received government subsidies from 13.74 to 26 percent. A decision regarding preliminary anti-dumping duties are anticipated in approximately two months.

The case was filed by the Wind Tower Trade Coalition, which includes Trinity Structural Towers, Broadwind Towers, DMI Industries and Katana Summit, which is a joint venture between Katana Industries, Sumitomo Corporation of America and SC Steel Investment.
