On May 14, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced in the Federal Register the preliminary results of its 2008-2009 antidumping duty (AD) administrative review for light-walled rectangular pipe and tube from China.

As a result of its administrative review covering January 20, 2008, through July 31, 2009, the US DOC has determined the preliminary dumping margin of 219.50 percent for The Sun Group Inc. and 264.64 percent as the China-wide rate. Petitioners in the review are Atlas Tube, Bull Moose Tube Company and Searing Industries, Inc.

The welded carbon-quality rectangular pipe and tube subject to the order is currently classified under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) subheadings 7306.61.50.00 and 7306.61.70.60.

The DOC pointed out that the final results will be published no later than 120 days from the date of publication of the preliminary results.
