On April 14, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced in the Federal Register the preliminary results of its antidumping duty (AD) administrative review for certain hot-rolled flat-rolled carbon quality steel products from Brazil.
As a result of its administrative review covering March 1, 2008, through February 28, 2009, the US DOC has determined a dumping margin of 4.93 percent for respondent Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (USIMINAS) and its subsidiary Companhia Siderurgica Paulista (COSIPA) (collectively USIMINAS/COSIPA).
The petitioner in the investigation is United States Steel Corporation.

The DOC also said that the final results of the review are to be issued no later than 180 days from the publication date of the preliminary results, extending the time limit 60 days compared to the usual process.
