The US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced that it has determined that countervailable subsidies are being provided to producers and exporters of certain carbon and alloy steel cut-to-length plate from China. The DOC published preliminary determinations on September 13, 2016.

DOC also announced the final antidumping (AD) duty for certain carbon and alloy steel cut-to-length plate imported from China. The DOC determined a China-wide AD duty of 68.3 percent.
If the US International Trade Commission (ITC) issues a final affirmative injury determination, the US DOC will issue AD/CVD order and will reinstate the suspension of liquidation and will require a cash deposit of estimated AD/CVDs for such entries of subject merchandise in the amounts indicated above. If the ITC determines that material injury, or threat of material injury, does not exist, this proceeding will be terminated and all estimated duties deposited as a result of the suspension of liquidation will be refunded or canceled.
