US DOC initiates administrative reviews of AD, CVD orders with August anniversary

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced Tuesday the initiation of administrative reviews of antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) orders with an August anniversary month.

The DOC has initiated the following administrative review of AD orders involving steel and related products:

(1) Certain steel nails from China (A-570-909) -- 158 named companies.

(2) Light-walled rectangular pipe and tube from China (A-570-914) -- Sun Group Inc.

(3) Corrosion-resistant carbon steel flat products from Korea (A-580-816) -- Dongbu Steel Co., Ltd.; Dongkuk Industries Co., Ltd.; Haewon MSC Co., Ltd.; Hyundai HYSCO; LG Hausys Ltd.; LG Chem Ltd.; Pohang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. / Pohang Coated Steel Co., Ltd.; and Union Steel Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

(4) Light-walled rectangular pipe and tube from Mexico (A-201-836) -- Maquilacero S.A. de C.V.; Regiomontana de Perfiles y Tubos S.A. de C.V.; Industrias Monterrey S.A. de C.V.; Perfiles y Herrajes LM S.A. de C.V.; Galvak; Hylsa S.A. de C.V.; Nacional de Acero S.A. de C.V.; Productos Laminados de Monterrey S.A. de C.V.; and Ternium Mexico S.A. de C.V.

These administrative reviews for Korea and Mexico cover the period from August 1, 2008 through July 31, 2009. The review of nails from China covers the period from January 23, 2008 through July 31, 2009, and the review of light-walled rectangular pipe and tube from China covers the period from January 20, 2008 through July 31, 2009.

The DOC has also initiated an administrative review of the CVD order involving the following steel product:

(1) Corrosion-resistant carbon steel flat products from Korea (C-580-818) -- Dongbu Steel Co., Ltd.; Hyundai HYSCO; and Pohang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.

This administrative review covers the calendar year of 2008.
