The US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced Monday the preliminary results of its administrative review of the antidumping order on large diameter (over 4.5 inches in diameter) carbon and alloy seamless standard, line, and pressure pipe from Japan.

The review covers four Japanese producers/exporters--JFE Steel Corporation; Nippon Steel Corporation; NKK Tubes; and Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd.--during the period from June 1, 2010 through May 31, 2011.

The DOC found that JFE, Nippon, and NKK did not export subject merchandise to the US during the period of review.  Therefore, the DOC preliminarily determined that these three companies had no reviewable transactions during the period of review.

The DOC also found that, although there were imports of subject merchandise produced by Sumitomo during the period of review, Sumitomo had no knowledge of such imports.  Accordingly, the DOC preliminarily determined that Sumitomo also had no reviewable transactions during the period of review.

The seamless pipes subject to the order are currently classifiable under the subheadings 7304.10.10.30, 7304.10.10.45, 7304.10.10.60, 7304.10.50.50, 7304.19.10.30, 7304.19.10.45, 7304.19.10.60, 7304.19.50.50, 7304.31.60.10, 7304.31.60.50, 7304.39.00.04, 7304.39.00.06, 7304.39.00.08, 7304.39.00.36, 7304.39.00.40, 7304.39.00.44, 7304.39.00.48, 7304.39.00.52, 7304.39.00.56,
